About Woodbridge
Woodbridge lies on the banks of the river Deben, just across the river from probably the most important Anglo-Saxon site in the United Kingdom - the Sutton Hoo Saxon royal burial ship.  With 1400 years of recorded history, the town has retained an interesting variety of historical architecture, making it an interesting town in which  to live and work; there is also the River Deben, for boating and riverside walks.

The town’s history as a ship building centre lives on with many of the older houses incorporating timbers from ships built for royalty or captured during famous sea battles.

Woodbridge enjoys a proper 'high street' - the Thoroughfare - with many independent shops. In fact, Woodbridge has over one hundred specialist shops and dozens of places to eat and drink.

Woodbridge has something to attract everyone, there is a bustling Town Centre, there are regular country and farmers markets, a swimming pool , cinema/theatre , various sporting facilities, museums, the famous Woodbridge Tide Mill   (one of only three working Tide Mills left in the country) and numerous eating and drinking establishments.  Woodbridge achieved the award as a Fairtrade Town in February 2008
